This company aimed to improve the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of its current mobile app. The goal was to enhance user satisfaction, engagement, and retention, leading to higher adoption rates and more qualified candidates being placed through the app. Additionally, we provided end-to-end support right from user research till design governance.

The Problem

Users struggle with a cluttered interface, confusing navigation, and slow performance, making it frustrating to efficiently explore opportunities and complete tasks on the talent acquisition app.

  • UI Enhancements: Modernize the app with a visually appealing design, optimizing layout, typography, color schemes, and ensuring consistency across screens for improved aesthetics and usability.

Challenge The project aimed to enhance the user experience of a global talent acquisition platform by addressing the needs of diverse user groups, business stakeholders, and recruiters. We adopted a highly user-centric approach, leveraging both primary and secondary research methodologies to inform design decisions. Research Approach 1. Primary Research: We conducted 20 tailored workshops with over 30 participants from 8 countries, carefully segmented by user type. Activities: Ice-breakers, Sailboat analysis, Tone-of-voice exercises, Open-ended discussions, Dot voting, and more. Customization: Non-English-speaking participants were supported by translators, enriching the research quality and our cross-cultural collaboration skills. 2. Secondary Research: A comprehensive desk research phase complemented the workshops, including: 1. Competitive analysis 2. User persona development 3. UI mood boards 4. Google Analytics data synthesis 5. Power BI insights 6. Market trends analysis

Insights were gathered over two months and methodically categorized to align with both user needs and business priorities. Key Insights The research yielded over 70 actionable recommendations, organized into 18 categories. These were presented in a 3-hour stakeholder alignment workshop attended by representatives from diverse demographics. Impactful Outcomes: Prioritized recommendations using a custom scoring system. UX enhancements to existing user flows. Innovative new user journeys designed through service design methodologies, including backstage process improvements for recruiters. Outcome The client lauded the depth and quality of our research, which directly informed key product decisions. By integrating extensive research insights into the design process, we successfully drove meaningful improvements in the recruiting and staffing ecosystem.
